বাংলার উৎসব ভূমিকা :- "এত ভঙ্গ বঙ্গদেশ                        তবু রঙ্গে ভরা"— ঈশ্বর গুপ্ত উৎসব হল মানবজীবনের একটি অপরিহার্য অঙ্গ । মানুষ শুধু খেয়ে-পরে বেঁচেই সন্তুষ্ট থাকে না । সে অনেকের সঙ্গে নিজেকে মিলিয়ে দিতে চায় । মানুষ দৈনন্দিন জীবনের গতানুগতিক একঘেয়েমির জীবন থেকে মুক্তি চায় । শ্রমক্লান্ত জীবনে পেতে চায় সহজ অনাবিল আনন্দ । আর তাই মানুষ উৎসবে মেতে ওঠে । উৎসব মানুষকে আনন্দ দেয়, প্রসারিত করে তার অস্তিত্বকে । বাঙালির ভাগ্যাকাশে দুর্যোগের মেঘ বারবার ঘনিয়েছে । কখনও দুর্ভিক্ষ, মহামারী মেতেছে বীভৎস মারণ যজ্ঞে । কখনও রাষ্ট্রীয় বিপর্যয় তাদের ভাসিয়ে নিয়ে গেছে স্থান থেকে স্থানান্তরে । তবুও আনন্দস্রোতে ভাটা পড়েনি, কারণ বাঙালি উৎসব প্রিয় জাতি । আমার আনন্দে সবার আনন্দ হউক, আমার সুখে সবাই সুখী হউক, এই কল্যাণী ইচ্ছাই উৎসবের প্রাণ । উৎসবের শ্রেণীবিভাগ :-এই উৎসবকে মূলত চারটি ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়— (ক) ঋতু উৎসব,  (খ) ধর্মীয় উৎসব,  (গ) সামাজিক-পারিবারিক উৎসব ও   (ঘ) জাতীয় উৎসব । (ক) ঋতু উৎসব :- বিশেষ বিশেষ ঋতুর সঙ্গ...

In this world of changed and changing climate, God, we ask that you would help us to help those who are in immediate danger; may we use what we have to help and to heal - then call us to repent of all the ways we continue to make this world a place of death, rather than life.
